Okay, this post is going to go something like this: you’ll likely at one point or another think “What horrible parenting!” But the end result will leave you resting assured that our wee little Poppet is well and fine.
Bad Parenting 101
We were at a hotel in Sudbury. We had a crazy late night. Lots of excitement. Dinner out, cool gifts, a lot for a little one to take in. We headed back to the room and tried to settle in as quickly and quietly as possible.
A couple of hours later Poppet starts crying. Something about her leg. Now, the crying is not unusual in itself. But the leg complaint is. We kept reassuring her we were there. We even got to the point where we stood up a half asleep Poppet and tried to get her to walk. Seeming like nothing was wrong, we put her back in the crib. She whined a little and restlessly headed back off to sleep.
An hour later she awoke again. Crying about her leg. Went through all the same questions. Finally, exhausted, we pulled her into bed with us. Uh-oh. That’s when we noticed. It wasn’t her leg that was hurting. It was her bum! She had some (TMI) diarrhea, and had been sitting it in for an hour now! Poor girl! Her bum was raw! Literally burned for an hour straight!
Lovey’s to the Rescue
Poppet usually doesn’t use any type of diaper cream. Just before heading out on our trip I had received some products to review. Never seeming to have enough time, I though I’d better bring some with us and see if I’d get an opportunity to review them while we were on the road. And what did I just happen to (thankfully) grab? Nothing other than Lovey’s Tushi Stick!
Let’s hope this works!
Poor girl, we had to run her under water to clean her off. The wipes were just too rough for her raw, tender skin. She cried….until the Tushi Stick touched her bum! It seemed to soothe on contact! Diaper on, back in bed, and not a peep for the rest of the night! Wow!
I love that the Tushi Stick is mess free. The wind up tube (think a large lip balm applicator) made it so easy to use. No messy fingers. And I know there is no cross contamination because Lovey’s lab tested the Tushi Stick and inundated it with 5 of the nastiest strains of bacteria and the Tushi Stick had enough natural preservative to kill the bad bacteria, not only on the stick, but also on the baby’s skin – which is why it works so well!! With all natural ingredients, and a soothing scent of essential oils, this is a perfect fit for our family! I was sold. When we headed home I delved right into the other two products in the review package:
I make my own wipes. I do this because I only want natural ingredients touching Poppet’s skin. It can be time-consuming to prepare, and in all honesty is not all that great for the environment as I still use paper towel as my base. With two poppet’s about to be in the house, I need a solution that is quicker, greener – and ultimately – every bit as natural and healthy as my home-made version! No small request.
Lovey’s Tushi Wash fit the bill! No chemicals, low on environmental impact and still super convenient to use! Yeah for Canadian innovation!
Something for Mum too! Chafe Guard
Being pregnant already dries out your skin. Being pregnant in a Canadian winter? Itchy, painful, cracking skin is no joke! I started using Lovey’s Chafe Guard, and have found amazingly instant relief! It comes in the same tube applicator as the Tushi Stick, and is perfect for tossing in my suitcase no matter where we are headed!
The bottom line is: Lovey’s products have become a fave in our household. Not just because they are Canadian made, but mostly because they fit perfectly with our lifestyle.
One of our Canadian readers will win their own Tushi Stick, Tushi Wash and Chafe Guard. Simply follow the steps in the Rafflecopter below. Open to residents of Canada.
