My biggest tip would be to look for in-season and/or on-sale produce and buy it in bulk! For example, at one point a local farm had a wholesale deal on blueberries fall through. This resulted in them slashing the price in half! I picked up 12 quarts for only $1.50 each! Since I was able to prepare and freeze multiple portions I not only saved time but money as well.

Thanks for sharing this… I picked up a mini processor yesterday and some on-sale produce this morning as you recommended! Looking forward to making food all afternoon and while I’m spending a bit up front I know it’ll payoff in months to come!

Michelle, I’m so glad you found this helpful! Making my own baby food definitely saved me not only money but piece of mind. It’s nice to know exactly what I’m feeding my baby! Good luck and thanks for commenting! =)
