LuLu B Cocktails #Review – Here I Come!

Calorie, Chocolate, Cocktails, Low, LuLu B, Margarita, Martini

When I was asked about whether I’d like to try some of Lulu B.’s awesome ready-made cocktails, of course I just had to take one for the team and indulge in a little bit of bliss!

I opened the package that arrived, to find two beautiful opaque bottles.  Not being a bit drinker of anything really, I tend to buy wine or alcohol specifically for how the bottles look.  This was right up my alley!  A beautiful illustration of a chic french woman enjoying a cocktail at a beautiful cafe table,  with her train travel case beside her just about sums up everything I love!  (Did I mention that I was in the extended french test group in highschool simply because of my love of all things French?  That I loved Paris for decades before I ever got the opportunity to visit?  That my idea of a perfect meal is a fresh baguette with brie and a little something special to drink?)

I snapped a quick pic and posted it on Instagram.  ”I’ll be right over!” my best friend commented.  But this was serious, this was work.  Okay, maybe not that hard a task to tackle!  I mean, Margaritas and Chocolate Martinis, how could I go wrong!

I started with the Chocolate Martini.  This was so soothing!  The crystal clear sweetness was so smooth.  I also tried it with a little bit of cream to mix it up a bit.  I must admit, it took me a bit to move on to the Margarita, simply because I was enjoying this one and savouring every moment.

Next came the Margarita.  I have been making margaritas from a mix all summer.  The perfect lime combination just seems a perfect fit for the super sunny summer we’ve been experiencing.  And the coolness of a margarita over ice is a great way to beat the heat!  With the Lulu B. Margarita there was  just something much more inviting about this completely clear cocktail.  It looked completely refreshing and inviting.  And so yummy too!

My favourite part of the Margarita is that it is sweetened with Stevia!  (a completely natural sweetener – not one of those “made from sugar” processed or chemical sweeteners – Stevia is truly straight from nature)  One side note, in Japan, they actually use stevia as  their main diet drink sweetener.  Sure wish we’d adopt that practice in North America.  Kudos to Lulu B. for stepping out and leading the pack!

You know what was the best part?   This little indulgence is made with natural flavours, and is low in calories and carbs!  The Chocolate Martini was only 48 calories, and the Margarita – only 38!  And Lulu B. is designed specifically to be enjoyed with the girls!  As their site states, studies have shown that when women connect it reduces their heart rate, blood pressure, and stress!  Guess my friend should have come by after all!  Good thing I saved a bit to share with her and her company!
