Chipotle Flank Steak with Cilantro Butter

What You Need:

1 1/2 pound flank steak (or other thick steak)

1 bottle chipotle BBQ sauce (good quality)

1/4 cup soy sauce

juice of 1/2 a lime

1/4 cup butter, softened

1/4 cup cilantro, chopped

What You Do With the Stuff:

  1. Mix together BBQ Sauce, soy sauce and lime juice. Pour over steak and allow to marinade 3-4 hours or overnight.
  2. Preheat grill on high. Place steak directly on grill and turn heat immediately down to medium. Grill 3-5 minutes per side for medium rare.
  3. Remove steak from grill and allow to sit on warm plate for 10 minutes to allow juices to re-absorb.
  4. Mix together butter and cilantro.
  5. Cut steak thinly on the diagonal and fan on a plate.
  6. Top with cilantro butter and serve with a salad, or sliced avocado and tomato.

That marinade combo sounds fantastic! This is one I’ll use. How can you go wrong with steak, butter and cilantro;)

We don’t eat a lot of beef but I happen to have some dried chipotles and some grass fed beef in the freezer so this is definitely going to be on my list to make the very next time I have to have it!! Sounds delectable!

This recipe sounds absolutely amazing and has me drooling here at work (hey, there’s only 8 minutes left and my boss is in a meeting) – loving the combination of the soy sauce and lime with the BBQ sauce for the marinade. Will have to try it out for sure. Thanks for sharing :)
