365 Days of Blessings – Days 272-292

At the suggestion from a fellow blogger I started posting the Blessings Challenge in Groups. I really agree with her that it makes for a better read, problem is, since I’m not doing it daily it’s pretty much out of sight out of mind! Also, since we have a group of regular staff writers, I rely on an automatic scheduler to post my content. So I have to do some quick thinking to get it to post on the right day for the blessings, but hopefully I’ll get the hang of this before the next 72 days of this challenge are up!

Day 272 – I am thankful for a change in weather.  We’ve had a really dry summer.  So dry that all my plants are dead either up at the trailer, or at home, depending on where we have spent our time.  Lately, the temperatures have cooled, and we’ve gotten some seriously needed rain!

Day 273 – I am thankful for quick stops at home.  We headed home for the evening to do some laundry and pack up to be on the go again.  I’m always glad to have these small moments in familiar surroundings!

Day 274 – I am thankful for finding the source of our leak!  Our basement has been flooding since last October.  We all thought it was our AC.  Turns out it was a hole in our foundation that I brought to the landlord’s attention at the beginning of the summer.  Hopefully they’ll actually get it fixed now!

Day 275 – I am thankful for ice cream sundaes.  I don’t like ice cream on its own.  It’s kinda like having a plain chocolate bar.  But load it up with all things gooey, and I’m all in!  Have discovered the simple pleasures of @McDonald’s ice cream sundaes yet again.

Day 276 – I am thankful for quiet time.  Just a few moments spent sitting on the couch with nothing by my own thoughts.

Day 277 – I am thankful for having my hubby home.  He usually travels on week-ends, but this week-end he’s here with us!  Yeah!

Day 278 – I am thankful for fellowship time.  I love the time spent with others after Church services.

Day 279 – I am thankful for auctions.  We have a Church fundraiser every summer that consists of a picnic and auction.  It’s always a blast!

Day 280 – I am thankful for little swings.  Picked up a children’s patio swing at the auction yesterday.  It’s super cute and Poppet keeps strapping all her toys in for a ride!

Day 281 – I am thankful for a new headlight.  Even though they replaced it without me asking them to.

Day 282 – I am thankful for sales.  There was an awesome Roots sale that allowed me to get a purse I had been saving for at almost 70% off!

Day 283 – I am thankful for pics from friends.  My friend is in Calgary right now and she’s sending pics along.  A nice way to travel (without actually doing it!)

Day 284 – I am thankful for patience.  Poppet couldn’t fall asleep until 11PM last night, and today has been a bit of a challenge in the tired department for her and me!

Day 285 – I am thankful for awesome italian dinners!  Went to a friend’s house for dinner, and had an awesome 5 hour italian dinner! 4 courses, including a break for the men to go shooting targets in the back field.  Superb!

Day 286 – I am thankful for toddler bed rails.  Last night I didn’t have one, and woke up to Poppet sleeping with her body completely between our bed and the playpen that was pushed up against the bed.  She looked pretty comfy, but scared me half to death!  The toddler rail is going back on tonight!

Day 287 – I am thankful for veggie patches.  I have a few vegetables growing in planter pots on my patio at home, and I’m actually starting to see some progress!

Day 288 – I am thankful for end of season sales. Our local grocery store had some patio side tables I’ve been waiting to get for the trailer and home.  They were $30 a piece, and way out of my price range.  This week they went on sale for $4.94!

Day 289 – I am thankful for trip preparation.  Usually I feel like I’m running around like a chicken with its head cut off getting ready for trips.  This week, I’m much more prepared and relaxed!

Day 290 – I am thankful for toddler songs.  Poppet keeps herself pretty occupied these days in the car simply by singing away to herself!  Too cute!

Day 291 – I am thankful for magnetic activity books.  These are a perfect invention for imagination!

Day 292 – I am thankful I’ve finally caught up on my blessings list!  And if any of you notice me get this far behind again, I’ll hold you personally responsible! :-)
