We see the kinds of e-mails that land in our inbox on a daily basis. Â The spam filter can only catch so much, and it just keeps coming and coming. Â We know not to click those links, we know that if someone we don’t know randomly sends us a promise for lots of cash, that we ought to just delete the message, but our children don’t always know.
As our children grow into the age of being technologically responsible, we need to do our best to protect them from the dangers online, that are just as real as the dangers in their non-virtual lives. Â You likely can’t realistically, check every e-mail that crosses their path, but there are some things that can help! Â We were recently asked to review KidsEmail.org, and we couldn’t wait to tell you about it!
KidsEmail.org allows you to have control over your child’s e-mail account.  You can set it to remove any links, ads, spam, pictures and foul language.  Just as we don’t want our children to talk to strangers in real life, neither do we want them talking to strangers on-line, where the space of the internet connection makes it seem less dangerous to them.  You can have your child only receive messages from their contact  list.  You can even have it set up to copy you on all incoming and outgoing messages.  Your children get to enjoy their growth in responsibility, while you get to make sure you are still protecting them the best you can.  If the program doesn’t recognize a sender it will automatically send the e-mail to you for approval first.

Don’t worry that your kid won’t find this fun! Â There are so many cool themes to personalize their inbox. Â It’s not just for little kids either, there is a whole set-up specifically geared at teens as well! Â And if you have trouble with them losing track of time, there is even an option to restrict the amount of time they use! Â What else could a parent hope for?
After putting the program fully to the test, KidsEmail.org is fully Poppet’s Pick Approved!
