This infographic shows that women have a clear preference to shopping in the high street rather than shopping on the internet. This is largely because women can feel the product and they don’t like to wait until the product arrives. 55% of women would prefer to shop on the high street while 45% online. Online is more of a research facility that allows a shopper to browse the latest fashions before committing to a high street purchase.  However even though social media is billed as the next big thing for ecommerce a whopping 90% have never interacted with a fashion retailer via social media; Facebook, Twitter or a mobile site. This is because retail is a tactile experience and shoppers want to interact with the product rather than the brand before committing to a purchase. Despite the fact that more women shop offline, it is predicted that “cross-channel commerce†is set to grow by 5 times by 2015.Â
