I am thankful for Queen Elizabeth II
I may be the oddball out in my generation, but I am a true monarchist. Â I remember as a child, my parents took me to Exhibition Stadium in Toronto to see the Queen. Â Shortly after I was married I went downtown Ottawa to see Prince Charles. Â In fact I was panicked because I was running late. Â No need to worry, instead of stadiums, I was standing in a meager crowd only 2 people deep.
I personally find it quite disappointing that we, as members of the commonwealth, seem to have forgotten that these human beings, through birth – not choice – live their entire lives in service to us. Â They are scheduled according to us, paraded around, sent on endless travels (which as great as it sounds, trust me, is exhausting), and required to attend numerous events.
I am proud of how Queen Elizabeth has carried herself, while still maintaining a precious family life. Â Too bad she never had a mom blog – bet it would be amazing!
Warmest regards,
{j}

I’ve always been fascinated by the English royalty. If I had been with you there would have been a loud crowd of 4 :)
Joy! I love this post. and In fact I have always carried sincere respect to your Queen. I have always been interested in her life and all that is Royalty. I think it’s pretty cool. I’m sure that is not at all proper English, but you get the just of it.

“Mums of England,
The sprogs kept me up all night. They are driving me barmy! I might just box their ears if they keep this up… Oh, and today we shall empty the bins. Tuesday is bin day after all.
Thanks for reading! You are simply the bees knees!
Love,
QEII”
Okay — maybe it wouldn’t go quite like that. :)

I think a Queen’s blog would be an awesome read! I’m fascinated with the younger generation–especially people who marry in to royalty. What a change in lifestyle!
Being American I don’t really understand what the Royal Family really does….but I’d love to live their life for a week—crazy cool hats,horses, and lots of bling yes yes YES!!!
PS I agree if she had a blog I’m sure it would ROCK! =)
