Susan, check the label on the back of your rugs before steam cleaning. Many are dry clean only.

Thanks Joy. Good advice. My husband and son will go gone next week. I’m not going to wear myself out by any means on my week off but I think I will clean the carpet in my little office. Since it is such a small space I won’t mind going over it until the water is clean. It’s probably going to gross me out and then I will want to do other rooms.

Luckily we have mainly wooden floors. But we do have a few area rugs! Great tips.

I have never tried doing my own! We don’t have any wall to wall broadloom but do have 2 area rugs that could really use it. I tend to just send them out…maybe I should give this a go.
