We used a midwife for DD1, 2, and 4. We planned on using one for DD3 but she came out after only an hour and a half- and the midwife was an hour and a half away! Oops! LOL

I didn’t know about Midwife day either. My younger sister just had her baby, and used a midwife in addition to her doctor for guidance. I think she really enjoyed having both together.

Wonderful post, love all this informaton, I didnt know there was a national day for this. I had a midwife with my last pregnancy and LOVED it, it was totally different than my other pregnacies.

I had a very long labour with my first child – almost 24 hours. So that meant several shifts of midwives. But I remember each of them – I remember their hands massaging my back for hours to help relieve that pain; I remember the care they took in helping me find more comfortable positions; and I remember them standing and sitting next to me as my baby had her first feeds. I remember them all:)

I have a good friend who feels it is her calling to go back to school for midwifery. It is such a strong and admirable profession. Kudos to you sister!

I’ve not used a midwife, however; after my experience with my daughterâ€¦I’m totally seeking out a midwife the next time I’m pregnant. I believe it will be a totally different (better!) experience!
