When you think of the Brits, you will often imagine tea drinking, scone eating country folk and while not all of that is true, they do enjoy over 165 million cups of tea per day. Unfortunately, all this tea drinking is contributing a rather large amount to their carbon footprints.
This is where Green Steve comes in – he has shown how making a small reduction in the amount of tea the British public drink can have a huge collective impact on the amount of greenhouse gas emissions pouring into the atmosphere.
I like just how simple his approach is as it shows the small things we can do in our lives that can help reduce the burden we have on the planet. It would sure be easier to cut back slightly on hot drinks than it would be to give up using a car or put solar panels on every roof space.
Steve Waller, better known in the blogosphere as Green Steve, has been giving out tips on green living to serve as little helping hands for those who are unsure what to do about their carbon footprints. He gives actionable advice and breaks complicated topics down into simple, easy to follow posts that educate and inform.

I dont think this has been thought through. What about all the people, many of whom live in 3rd world countries, whose very lives depend on the tea industry.
Less tea drank equals less tea picked and processed, equals less jobs for those who have no other way to survive.
Sorry but not buying this one.
The main point is on the enivornmental view. Paper cups, filters, etc. can all be cut down to lessen the impact on the environment. And it only talks about lessening the tea consumption from 3.6 cups per person per day to 3. Not a huge effect on the 3rd world producers I would think (but could be wrong)
Oh the carbon footprint of British tea. First it was the tea tax in the Boston Harbor and now this! Seriously, reusable cups are a wonderful thing. Cheers!
