I try to make sure I feed my family the best I can. That means as much as I can I also choose local, organically grown produce. This can get VERY expensive, but for a couple of years now I’ve been purchasing pre-filled boxes from Grand River Organics (formerly Loft Organics). They serve the Waterloo Region, Guelph, Burlington, Mississauga and Greater Toronto Area. For $37, which I buy every 2 weeks for my family of 3 (we used to buy weekly, but we travel so much now that we are away about half of each week), I get a medium Rubbermaid container full of organic fruits and vegetables. I love the time it saves me at the grocery store, as well as the money it saves my wallet. It is one of the things I look forward to most on a weekly basis. Quite often there will also be local add-ons: specialty breads, honey, canned goods, etc. We are putting Grand River Organics on the Poppet’s Pick list because they so deserve to be there!
