A couple of weeks ago my husband about had a heart attack when he opened the linen closet.  He set about reorganizing it to perfection…or so we thought.  After the great lice scare we hurriedly changed all the sheets in the house.  When we came to our room and I headed to the linen closet there was nothing easy at all about finding a matching set of sheets. The problem:  all the fitted sheets were neatly stacked together, same with the pillow cases, ditto for the flat sheets.  The issue with this is that I had to go through every flat sheet and try it on the bed to find which were queen sized, and which were double.  Then had to find a matching flat, and if I was lucky, the matching pillow cases.
Now, my suggestion is not as pretty as my husband’s, but I find it much more practical: Â Store the full set of sheets together in one of the pillow cases, and then sort them by size in the linen closet (i.e. all the queen sets together, all doubles, all singles, etc.) Â This way, when you need to quickly change a bed it is not a huge effort each time. Â Come to think of it, probably a good idea for sheets stored at the cottage too.
The other thing that I tend to do is this: Â my guest room is the only double bed in the house. Â I store all the sheet sets for the guest room in a dresser drawer in the actual room. Â That way my linen closet never has the doubles in it to run across by mistake.
What are your solutions for wayward sheet sheets? Â Would love to know! Â Comments are open!
