I am thankful for the nice couple who gave our pup a new home
I call her a pup, but she is our 12-year-old husky, Nikita, the first baby of the family. Â But she has been abiding in a small area in the front entryway since Poppet’s arrival.
To say watching her walk away was anything less than heart-breaking would be a lie. Â She has been the best, go anywhere, up for anything dog we could have hoped for. Â She has been with us for what seems like forever. Â I’m reminded through my tears of the dogs my dad would bring home. Â Even one named Bandit he had found while on shift as a police officer. Â The ones we had to part with as children. Â It’s the same hurt, only worse.
But I’m happy to know she’ll be getting lots of attention, the attention that we couldn’t give her as we became the stereotypical dog owners once the baby arrived. Â I’m happy she won’t have to spend days on end at the Kennel (although she loved going there – Forrestdale Kennel rocks!) Â And I’m happy she will be loved.
Warmest regards,
