Tidy Tuesday: Front Entry Organization
Since Poppet’s arrival, we have been having a hard time keeping the front entryway organized. We’ve hung hooks, gotten a bookcase from Ikea and put drawers and cupboards in the lower openings. When my husband arrived home with this unit I HATED IT! I couldn’t bear the thought of another white piece of furniture just blending in with our pale yellow walls. We came up with the idea of covering the drawer and cupboard fronts with good quality wallpaper. I LOVE THE RESULT!
We have a fabric organizer hidden behind our front door for flyers, mail, the dog leash and keys. In Canada you can often find front doors left open with just the storm door locked. This was the perfect place to keep hard to organize papers out of sight!
Our closet was always an issue. Any time we needed a hat or scarf we would have to fish through a large Rubbermaid container. Good luck if you could find a matching pair! Last night he had a brilliant idea. Hang baskets in the front hall. If hung low enough, Poppet would be able to reach the lowest to put her things in, and we could have access to the higher ones. Hubby went to work (the handyman that he is). Super practical!
He then went on to hang our wayward scarves over the rail in the front closet. I think this was a stroke of genius that I’m going to apply to my bedroom closet too!
I would love to hear what organizational ideas you’ve come up with for your clutter issues!
Warmest regards,
