Mabel’s Labels Monday – Potlucks and Babies!
After I had Poppet in an unplanned hospital birth, I returned home within 14 hours. I settled into the cozy bed, and realized, I DIDN’T WANT TO MOVE! I was exhausted! Then it occurred to me – at the hospital they fed me! And the food was great! What was I thinking coming home and having to fend for myself? I seriously considered heading right back there and checking myself in for the next 18 years!
Thankfully, some of our dearest friends popped over to visit. And, Ta-Da! They had food with them! (I LOVE THEM!) We savoured every morsel as more and more brought us tasty treats. However, when it was all said and done, I still have a plate that I have no idea who it belongs to! (If it’s yours just let me know – white and square).
As much as I love collecting stray pieces of tableware, I feel sorry for this poor plate, separated from all its little family of plates that look just like it. It must wonder, looking at my round plates, if it was adopted!
Once I was on the mend and feeling a bit more like myself, we started attending more socials, which inadvertently feature the BEST potlucks! I would bundle up our wares, and when Poppet got too tired we’d make an early evening of it and head home. Often I would forget my dishes, and someone would have to figure out that I was the one that brought it, and hold on to it for me until I saw them next. In comes Mabel’s Labels, and my ULTIMATE favourite way to use their sticky labels. I took every single plastic lid in my kitchen, and labelled it! Repeated with my Slow Cooker lids, and I was done. Now when I bring food when people are experiencing life changes, or even just forget my dish at a potluck, I am always assured it will be returned!
Each sticky label is dishwasher safe too! Yippee!
Warmest regards,

SUCH a great idea! At the reception for my husband the same thing happened. So many dishes left behind, and we didn’t know who to return them to. I love this idea. Practical, and pretty :)
Also, a HUGE congratulations to Pardon My Poppet for winning the Best Family Blog of the year. Way to go!

Don’t think we won, but we were nominated! I think voting is still going on for the final round. Thanks for the kudos though!
