Well, the good news is that my weight did not go up this week. Â The bad news – it didn’t budge either! Â Can I chalk this one up to a wonderful anniversary week-end? Â Complete with Billy Miner Pie, Pecan crusted steak with goat cheese, chocolate, etc! Â Was sooooo worth it. Â To tell you the truth, I figured the scale would have jumped 2 pounds at least, so I am thankful for the lack of movement!
I worked out this morning like I haven’t in almost 2 years. Â Was exhilarating. Â Pretty sure I’ll pay for it in the morning. Â I strapped Poppet into her high chair, plopped some chopped apple on her tray and away I went. Â As I did each lunge she thought it was a wonderful game and would lean forward and backwards with me!
The iphone apps I’m currently using are put together by Daniel Miller. Â I’ve been using the free versions of his Daily Workout Apps, and let me tell you, he has not skimped on anything! Â If anyone has tried the paid versions I’d love to know your thoughts in the comments section below. Â One of the things that makes these apps PERFECT for my lifestyle: Â they use your own body weight for most of the exercises. Â For a few it uses a simple set of dumbbells. Â Easy to take with me when we travel! Â Perhaps in a future update there may be a settings options for if you have NO exercise equipment at all.
Currently there are 7 apps available (14 if you include both the free and paid versions). Â I thought there was only 6, but woot, woot! Â when I went to his site to do get more info for my review there was a Daily Full Body Workout added too! Â Squee! Â Since I can’t afford to upgrade each of the individual apps, perhaps I’ll splurge and get the full version of the Full Body! Â You get twice as many exercises, more routines, a landscape mode (super useful for teeny iPhone screens) and it is ad free (not that his ads have ever been intrusive at all).
In the individual apps you can set the length of your workout, whether to start at a specific exercise or do a complete workout, whether to be prompted by a voice to change exercises (yes – even in the free versions). Â You can even set a calendar reminder that will let you know when it is time to work out! Â I LOVE THESE APPS!
They are currently available in the Apple and Mac App stores (don’t see an iPad version yet, would love to! Â hint hint!). Â They are also on the Amazon App Store, Android, and the Nook Color!
If you have any AMAZING apps you’d like me to review just shoot me an e-mail: Â info {at} pardonmypoppet.com
