My kids brought in a 5 gallon bucket about half full of water, containing a big rock, and a bunch of tadpoles. That wasn’t so bad until the tadpoles turned into little froggies, climbed up on the rock and jumped out of the bucket. Baby frogs were everywhere, and of course, some of them escaped, to die in places unseen, but definitely smelled. But that was better than the time my son brought a garden snake in a jar into the house….and opened the jar…

Sooo embarassing, but…….my 2.5 year old daughter, right in the middle of potty training her (and teaching her that we pick up ALL our messes), decided that her “deposit” left in her potty should go into the regular trash can…well, she dropped it onto my rug, half way to the trash can, realized that it should be cleaned up, stepped on it while running to get something to clean it with, tracked it along the rest of the rug, then decided to wash it up with RED GATORADE! What else could I do, once I found it, but to smile and thank her for remembering that we clean up OUR messes!!

Our baby can’t mess our floors up yet, but my husband is excellent at it! The worst is when he tries to wear his dirty yard work shoes in the house.

It can be hard to get some to remember to take off boots! :-). Don’t know where you’re located. We’re in Canada and shoes always come off. When we live in Oklahoma we had a sign on our front door: “Welcome! Please remove your footwear, it’s a Canadian thing!”
