As busy parents, gadgets and technology make our lives a whole lot easier. But often the last thing we want to do when we need a new laptop, kitchen gadget or other shiny new toy is wander around a shopping centre, endlessly asking the same questions of sales assistants or lining up for hours in the checkout queue.

It’s good to see that some things never change and according to an article in US News, teaching kids about the value of money is still as important today as it was when we were kids. In the article, Neale Godfrey, author of Money Still Doesn’t Grow on Trees: A Parent’s Guide to Raising Financially Responsible Children, suggests that parents should begin with the concept that money must be earned. Since I was a little boy food has always been a big adventure for me.  I have some fond and not so fond memories of food that have all played a part in who I am today.
